The origin of IWATA
Mankichi Iwata, while working at the Kodokan, began to make Judo-gi under the supervision of Jigoro Kano and founded "Iwata Ju-ken-Dogishokai" PLEASE ADD 'At that time Jigoro Kano created and presented to us our trademark.' Our trademark is cross white fan.

HAKUSEN-SIRUSHI

What Iwata Shokai developed
For JUDO At this time, we developed products such as Kannuki※ and ※2 Kohaku-obi with Jigoro Kano.
※ A loop that is placed on the pants to fix the cord used to cinch the pants are called Kannuki.
※2 A red and white paneled belt. Girls started putting white line on black belt.

For AIKIDO
Started manufacturing of the first Aikido specific

All Aikido products were developed independently of our existing Judo products based upon the input of instructors, the movement unique to Aikido, and to meet the specific needs of the Aikido practitioner.
